Welcome
Christian Faith stems from the Person of Jesus Christ, His incarnation, life and teaching, His death and resurrection.
The Faith is viewed, interpreted and then practically applied by the Christian Church from a unique perspective offered to us in the Apostolic Teaching.
What does it mean?
It means that anyone can look and interpret Jesus and the Bible differently according to their own taste, experience, culture, upbringing etc, but the only correct way to look at Christ is through the eyes of the eyewitnesses – the Apostles.
In other words, we can only truly know Christ and be Christians if we are in agreement with the Teachings of the Apostles and their faithful disciples (Sometimes called the Fathers or Doctors of the Church).
These first believers, who personally knew the Saviour, and then their followers, gave us the Bible, the Creeds (the Confession of our Faith), the unique spiritual experience or Tradition of following Christ and the objective reasons to trust their message. These doctrines or teachings have been passed to us through the ages and are upheld by believers. They contain beliefs in the authority of the Bible, the nature of the Triune God, the state of humanity, the way of salvation and the unique news peculiar only to Christianity: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
